What a Circus!

But that's the beauty of a Bachmann candidacy: Nobody seriously believes she has a chance to win the GOP nomination. The establishment has seen candidacies like hers before, fringe ideologues with devoted followings -- and clear ceilings on their support.

See; that’s the thing about politics.  It’s . . . . . well . . . political.  As the frenzy continues to build, each candidate wannabe vies for their place in the sun, even when it is pointless to do so.  This need to politic is so consuming that it is carried out regardless of the detrimental effect to both the candidate and their party.  Sometimes the best campaign is the campaign of support for a viable candidate.  Bachmann, Trump, and all the other candidates that do not have a chance mess it up for the one or two possible choices that actually could get enough votes to win an election.

This is not a game.  This is serious business.  You know those exploratory committees you talk about?  Give them a chance.  Evaluate the results of all that polling and make the smart decision.  Sure; Trump is in the lead right now, but he hasn’t begun to weigh in on the serious and important issues of our time.  You know why?  He is smart enough to know that even he doesn’t have the answers.  If he did have the answers wouldn’t he be putting them out there?  Pack your things and go home Donald.  Let the big boys play the game, and don’t pull attention from them.  You, Sarah and Michelle do a far greater disservice to the process and our country than you can imagine.

The white noise of these types of candidates is unbearable. In our media saturated world, it’s hard enough to stand out and get your message across.  Why then would the Bachmann’s, Trump’s and Palin’s of America stand in the limelight and stand in the way, of our serious, more qualified contenders?  The answer, I believe is found in a single word; Ego.

We all know there is a fair amount of narcissism found in the political arena.  These people can’t resist a little thing I like to call “talking head” syndrome.  They have to be out there, stirring the commotion into a frothy soup, and in the aftermath of all their hype and false comments, they’ll be gone and we; the voters won’t have a clue who to really vote for.  If you are a true patriotic person; if you care about your country and its conscientious voters; get off the talk shows, and allow the real potential candidates to step into the limelight. In this world with three wars, a nuclear disaster in Japan, and a volatile economy, can we really afford another George W. or Jimmy Carter?
